Black Slacks Work with Every Color

Hello ... I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 1996, after having my left breast removed and one year later reconstructive surgery done.
It still is very hard to find clothes to fit like i want them to. I'm now 51 years old and would love to dress 51; however i still want to look nice in things i wear. Help, please. I like the colors blue, black, teal, and browns -- no reds and no yellows. Again, I need help to get a new wardrobe togeather.
Hello Julia -- My heart goes to you.
Is there a lingerie shop or department in your area that serves breast cancer survivors? That might be a good place to start.
Try to find a seamstress or tailor who can alter blouses and tops. You may even find a seamstress who can make some clothing especially for you.
Suggesting a wardrobe without knowing your lifestyle is challenging. It sounds as if you are on the right track: You've decided what colors you want to wear.
Whether you want suits or dresses, casual wear or office wear, there are many appropriate garments.
Assembling the basics, whatever those may be, in neutral colors. Black is a wonderful basic color -- but perhaps a bit warm in Mississippi summers.
Have some fun with colors and details, such as embroidery or interesting buttons.
Take comfort in the knowledge that no one is born with good taste. We learn through a process of trial and error. Enjoy the journey.
