Edit Your Outfit for Best Effects
(Winter Springs, FL)
I am over 50 and still working as a designer for a national furniture design center.
I want to project an image of being put together, and still fun yet classic. This has been a challenge for me in the past few years, as I have had a problem with my weight.
I do believe that a full length mirror is a must, and thank goodness we have a large bathroom mirror so that I can avoid many mistakes.
I like to remember a quote from Marilyn Monroe. "Stand in front of the mirror and face away from it. Turn your head and look back into the mirror. If anything stands out, take it off." This goes for clothing as well as make up, if it stands out, take it off.
I like to go out in public and not dress like anyone else to a certain degree. I love bling as an accent, or a sequined top; however too much of a glittery thing can be overkill.
The same goes for animal prints: one item i.e., a skirt, OR jacket OR top is plenty and maybe some "wild" earrings, but do not over do it. Edit your outfit before you use too much of a good thing.
