How to Feel Tall with Wardrobe Planning -- Even If You Are Petite
At 5 feet 2 inches and at the top end of what's considered normal weight for me, I discovered a versatile style that gives Ada a long lean look. I invested in slacks and tank tops in the same color - a black set and a navy set, etc.
With this foundation I can play with jackets, scarves , pashminas, statement necklaces in favorite colors and textures. It is a creative, fun and inexpensive way to utilize all of those wonderful colors I love with accessories. NOTE: I wear very little pattern and when I do I keep the scale very small.
The challenge for my inner Bohemian is to edit, edit, edit trying to remember that less can sometimes be perfect; i.e. for my size, I choose to wear either a wonderful necklace OR a pair of gorgeous earrings -- NOT both (which can sometimes be overwhelming).
Hi Ada and thank you for the perfect advice.
It's so true that sticking to a solid color creates a block of color that visually creates an impression of height.
Exploring how to use accessories effectively to express your inner Hecate is genius.
I also like your observation that prints and patterns should be on a small scale to be proportionate with your height and body type.
So often, we are so focused on color combinations that we forget about balance, scale, and proportion.
Someday when you get a chance, I hope you will post some photos of your favorite outfits.
Thanks for sharing.
