Material Girl

Luckily I live in a house with seven closets. Still, it's barely enough space for all the bolts of fabrics I'm hoarding for the day when I have enough time to tackle a reupholstering project or figure out what to do with this gorgeous material.

I pick up exquisite designer materials at yard sales for $5 or $10 a bolt and, like an addict, I can't resist.

You're so right about the joy of materials which call out to be snipped and folded and pleated and gathered. I confess I like it better on the bolt and rolled out over a chair or table to jog some beautiful fantasy than when covering a pillow or constructed into a blouse. Some people have a shoe fettish. Mine is fabric.

Cut from the same cloth.

We are so like-minded in this. I have such a stash of fabric that I just couldn't resist, that I'll have to live another 50 yrs. to use it all. I took up quilting with the expectation of putting much of it to use, only to discover a new category of fabric that begged to be purchased. Every so often I put myself on a "no new fabric diet", but some new project or pattern that catches my eye and all willpower evaporates.
