Small Mountain Town without Retirees
What are appropriate fashions for my age (57) for going to dinner, events, and for outdoor casual. I live in SW Colorado, a sunny place with a lot of outdoor activities.
Much depends on your taste and your figure.
Slacks are a must -- cotton twill for warmer weather and corduroy for winter.
If I lived in the West, I'd wear beautiful boots when the weather was right for it, with a longer skirt, a nice top, a conch belt, fabulous turquoise earrings and necklace, and a nice leather jacket.
Or I'd wear the boots with my slacks tucked in during cold weather, and a warm nylon quilted jacket.
For summer hiking and rodeos, I'd wear shorts if my legs permitted or lightweight slacks otherwise.
I'd also take that the longer-style skirts and pair them with sandals.
You may want a nice black, navy, dark brown or plum knit dress or knit skirt and top combination for more conservative events, such as a funeral.
