Photos As A Tool for Evaluating Clothes - Me Too
by: nzjen

Hi Enid

I wonder if what Susan is saying is that she sees the real way her dressing comes across in a photo, rather than her personality.

I'm like you, I tend to freeze up in a photo. But I recently saw a photo of myself in an outfit I thought looked good in the mirror and it did not in the photo.

That, and seeing a glimpse of myself in a glass door at the mall, showed me that the light in my bathroom must be very flattering and that I can actually be quite deluded about how I am looking in my clothes!

Color Rules: Thoughts on Adding Vivid Touches to Grays and Neutrals
by: Phyllis

Thanks so much for posting your photos. I'm in my 60s now and sometimes find myself opting for safe colors head to toe for fear of looking like I'm trying too hard.

Personally, I love the way the hot pink flatters your complexion and hair. And because the top is more fitted, you look longer and leaner. Just my humble opinion, the grey sweater looks like it may be trying to make you disappear -- the proportions seem off to me. If you love it, more power to you!

I now keep my basics in shades of grey, charcoal, etc., since they suit my skin and almost-white hair.

But I've been stepping out of that grey zone with new pieces, like a red ostrich fitted jacket with removable faux fur collar. I wore it with a black/cream top under it, and black fitted jeans and simple jewelry. I felt amazing and got compliments from women in my age group that I didn't even know.

My fashion inspiration? Susan Sullivan, the "mom" on the Castle TV series.

Best of luck, and thanks again.
