A Bit About Fabric Choices
by: ENID

I have never ordered from either of these, and Fashion After 50 is not affiliated with either.

I have recently been looking at spring-summer dresses for myself, as Boden USA is one of the few that offers some cotton or predominantly cotton-blend fabrics.

TravelSmith seems to specialize in microfibers that remain wrinkle-free when packed. Microfibers are the latest generation of polyester and synthetic fibers.

I sweat too much in synthetics and even develop ring eczema.

The new microfibers do a great job of resembling twill, cotton, and silk.

I recently bought some tunic tops that are poly blends. They looked and felt so much like cotton, I didn't read the label.

Now that Florida temperatures are rising, I am finding I cannot wear these comfortably. Lesson learned. As I look for some dresses, I am checking the fabric labels very carefully.

These are usually located on a seam -- I am finding them mostly in the right seam as I face the garment -- and up some inches from the hemline.

Thanks for the tip about these online retailers.
